I think that the landscape painting was the project that taught me the most. Learning how to successfully blend colors, as seen in the transition from red to yellow in the horizon, results in a much more professional looking piece. In addition to this, using various brushes to create a better looking texture on the canvas was a vital piece to improving the appearance of the painting. One cool part of this project was using the canvas rather than just regular paper.
The water color project is one project that we used previous skills and applied them to another project. The two point perspective as well as shading were both concepts that we had picked up earlier in the year. Being able to apply these skills to current and future projects displays the growth of the class as artists.
This was hands down the semesters worst project. Making the correct shading on the face of the random individual was nearly impossible for me. Transferring the object from numerous pieces of paper was also a challenge while creating this piece. In addition to this, it was extremely difficult to see through the multiple layers of paper to correctly shade and trace the underneath paper. Because of these things, I thought that this project proved to be the worst, and most useless project we did.
I have the most personal connection with this image that I made using Photoshop. Because I used a friends image to blend with a randomized image, it relates to me the most. Because of this, I enjoyed making this project more than any other this year. Doing projects that are related to your everyday life making art in whole much more interesting as well as exciting.
